Bulgaria
Bulgaria is situated in south-east Europe. It has a total population of over seven million people and a surface area of 110,994km2. Its official language is Bulgarian and the capital city is Sofia.
Inter Campus Bulgaria was created in 1997 and since then it has been linked with the Stefan Noykov Foundation, which helps disadvantaged people and ethnic minorities. The Foundation promotes youth participation in the arts and, together with Inter Campus, uses recreational and sporting activities to encourage young people to better express themselves in marginalised or isolated areas, including Roma communities.
The aim of Inter Campus Bulgaria is to further social inclusion between the various ethnicities and cultures present in the country. The project is active in Duonitsa Bania and Troyan. 130 children are involved, along with their instructors, who are frequently given educational and sports training.
