[The Future Generations of Inter Campus Bulgaria]

During the mission, preparations were in full swing for yet another election — the eighth in just five years — within the Inter Campus program at the school in the Romani neighborhood of Hristo Botev in Sofia. The country is currently going through a particularly delicate and significant historical phase, marked by profound changes that are generating expectations, debates and inevitable social and economic transformations. In this period of transition, the theme of future generations takes on central importance: children and adolescents are the true driving force behind the country’s change and development.

The school is attended by children and teenagers aged 6 to 18 and represents one of the main educational and social points of reference for the neighborhood. On the school’s football pitch, the Inter Campus delegation carried out three intensive days of training sessions with around forty children, under the guidance of the two physical education teachers, Kemal and Mario, who are key figures for the continuity of the project and for the daily relationship with the youngsters. Managing the activities is far from simple. Among the children involved in the project, the greatest challenges mainly concern cognitive and behavioral aspects. Many of them have very limited attention spans and live in complex family and social situations, which inevitably affect their school and interpersonal experiences as well.

For this reason, the project places particular focus on developing cognitive and social skills through targeted technical and playful exercises. Football thus becomes an educational tool capable of creating rules, relationships, listening and mutual trust. Through the game, children gradually learn to cooperate, respect their teammates and enjoy positive experiences within a protected and inclusive environment. In a context marked by profound change and widespread fragility, the daily work carried out at the Hristo Botev school takes on even greater importance: investing in younger generations means building, step by step, a different perspective for the future of the community.
