SLATINA – The annual Inter Campus Pirelli tournament took place in the small town of Curtisoara over last weekend. The event was not only a real celebration of football but an occasion for Inter Campus to offer an educational programme to over a hundred children from Slatina and the surrounding area, many of whom are of Roma ethnicity.

Davide Meda, CEO of Pirelli Romania, inaugurated the tournament. The annual event involved many children taking part in matches held in the small town of Curtisoara, a few miles away from Slatina which itself is a couple of hours west of Bucharest.

Also present were business executives, officials from local institutions, and Giovanni Pasculli, who was representing the local partner Comunita Nuova. Three local coaches, under the supervision of the Inter Campus coach Davide Lubes and logistics manager Christian Valerio, assisted by a dozen volunteers who were previously involved in the project but had left due to age limits, were tasked with leading the children in these matches. The aforementioned took charge of 16 different sides, ten of which were from Inter Campus and six of which were guest teams.

The weekend was rounded off with the finals and an awards ceremony. Thanks to Pirelli for this fantastic initiative!
