MILAN – Local coaches working on the Inter Campus Poland project recently visited Milan for a training course designed to give them an immersive taste of the way things work at the heart of the Nerazzurri universe.
Three Polish coaches, Rafal, Leszek and Kataryzyna, attended the course entitled “Football: one game, different methods to teach it”. The aim was to show how football can be taught in different ways depending on your desired objectives: while these might be purely technical in a competitive context, in social projects such as Inter Campus, development and education are just as important.
The coaches observed training at ASD Calvairate, a Milan-based club which works closely with the Inter campus technical team, before taking a more active role in the organisation of the sessions. They also watched the Nerazzurri youth academy train at the Suning Youth Development centre in memory of Giacinto Facchetti, where there were given an overview of the Youth Academy by grassroots technical coordinator Paolo Migliavacca and of the Inter Academy program by technical operations manager Aldo Montinaro.
The week climaxed with an observation of a first-team training session at the Suning Training Centre in memory of Angelo Moratti in Appiano Gentile. The coaches were also able to meet the players and coach Stefano Pioli at the end of the workout.
Though the lesson of the visit was that football can be a vehicle for different aims, the course also highlighted that the Inter Campus project is characterised by three common values: fun for adults and children, professionalism and passion for Inter black and blue.
