Bethlehem – A new adventure for Inter Campus Palestine will take part in the third phase of the “Child Friendly School” project.
VIS (International Voluntary Service for Development) is committed to making the schools in the most vulnerable and disadvantaged Palestinian communities as child friendly places.
Each partner involved in the project will bring their own specific expertise. The common goal is the contribution to the protection of the most vulnerable Palestinian population which is subject to serious violations of fundamental human rights.
Action Against Hunger will rehabilitate 4 schools to make the environments more functional and safer; VIS will proceed with the purchase of educational materials – such as computers and projectors – in order to ensure more effective learning for boys and girls.
Inter Campus will organize an 8-day Summer Camp at Dura International Stadium for 80 boys and girls in collaboration with the municipalities of Dura, Hebron, and Masafer Yatta. They will use football as an educational and development tool. Within the various activities of the Summer Camp, psychosocial research will also be structured, allowing the identification of the resources and vulnerabilities of boys and girls as individuals and as part of a team. Practical activities on the pitch will follow, according to the detected needs.
The project is funded and supported by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) through the Emergency program. It includes 12 months lasting initiatives, aimed to support situations of extreme vulnerability.
