A high-profile Circle of Supporters have signed up to help create momentum to accelerate progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The supporters come from different backgrounds, but what they have in common is the genuine commitment with which they have interpreted their roles, dedicating themselves to others through their skills.
“It is an honour to be part of the Circle of Supporters and to promote the Sustainable Development Goals together with so many personalities from the world of culture, sports and entertainment. We are all called to act responsibly, being an example for others with concrete actions.”
Javier Zanetti, Inter Vice President
Javier Zanetti, Vice President of Inter and Ambassador of Inter Campus, will witness how sport and football can be strong promoters of development and dialogue, protecting Human Rights and the Rights of the Child.
2023 marks the halfway point towards the achievement of the SDGs. The road is long, and COVID-19 created great challenges, but together nothing is impossible.
“The 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted by world leaders in 2015 provided a roadmap for a better future for people and planet, but as we approach the midpoint ahead of 2030, the world is not on track to achieve them. The midpoint is a perfect time to push for renewed global ambition and action for the SDGs. With the support of the Circle of Supporters such as football legend Javier Zanetti, we can galvanize global public not only to take individual actions on the SDGs, but to impress upon decision-makers the urgency to act now. ”
