Almost a year after the unveiling of new projects in Casablanca, Morocco and in Tunis, Tunisia, Inter Campus activities are still interrupted and waiting to restart. Nevertheless, this forced stop has not prevented continuous contact and discussions with the respective local partners of the two projects, Initiave Urbaine and WeWorld, as well as with the many local coaches with whom numerous distance training courses have been held in recent months. The desire to resume at full capacity is great, especially among the young boys and girls who cannot wait to wear their Nerazzurri jersey again and to find themselves together on the football pitch training and playing with their friends.
In Casablanca, the organisational representative of the Moroccan project, Abdeljalil Bakkar, said confidently “we will soon be back. There is a need to restart activities that promote integration and socialization, especially for the boys and girls of the neighbourhood. The work with local coaches is also fundamental; their training – which we are currently doing remotely – will have an impact on the growth and development of children. This is a particularly important aspect of the project”. Along the same lines, Emilie Debreuille, representative of the Tunisian project, confirmed to us that “the enthusiasm of all the local staff and all the beneficiaries is high, and as soon as it is possible we will resume our activities with the same passion and the same sense of responsibility we had when we launched this collaboration a year ago”.
