[JERUSALEM AND TEL AVIV: THE FAMILIES SUPPORTING INTER CAMPUS]

December 2019: in the space of 24 hours in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, Inter Campus and Ghetton NGO, our partner for the Israel and Palestine project, were able to achieve another important objective, that is to raise awareness among the families of our children off the pitch as we all aim to support the youngsters on their educational path.

In the neighbourhood of Abu Tor in Jerusalem, it is customary for Israeli and Palestinian parents to attend and comment on training sessions together, meaning they get to follow the progress of their children who play together in the Holy City every Thursday. Without any barriers and with everyone under the same roof, enthusiasm grows after every session and divisions start to disappear. This is all thanks to the bonds forged through the Nerazzurri shirt and being together both on and off the pitch.

A little more than 50 km away in a neighbourhood in the south of Tel Aviv, the association https://www.kuchinate.com/, who host and protect African immigrants whose rights are not recognised, can be found. Here, the parents of Israeli youngsters and refugees who are part of the Inter Campus project join their children in spending a day together and eating traditional Ethiopian and Eritrean food prepared by the African mothers. With the children engaged in recreational activities together, the adults set a good example by discussing how the objectives that Inter Campus have been pursuing for a long time can be achieved together. The aim is to break down barriers and grow together, all the while understanding that diversity is a source of enrichment and not a restriction.
