Inter Campus: the colors of tolerance

QUERETARO – Friendship, Justice, Respect, Faith, Tolerance, Honesty, Solidarity, Sincerity. The names of the teams taking part in the first ever Inter Campus Amistad (Inter Campus Friendship) tournament encapsulate the core values that constitute the foundations of the Inter Campus Mexico project.

In an historic step forward for the Nerazzurri’s social activity in Mexico, all of the Inter Campus centres in the country came together for the tournament, with more than 100 kids of between the ages of 11 and 12 hosted at the Institute of the Sisters of Saint Marcellina College in Queretaro along with their coaches.

Cheered on by a lively crowd and event sponsors Pirelli Mexico, the Renacimiento Foundation, the Silao Peter Pan Foundation and the Institute of the Sisters of Saint Marcellina, the children spent the day testing their mettle against each other on the football pitch.

The real winners come the end of the tournament were the project’s values themselves, embodied in the healthy competition that characterised a truly unforgettable day. The kids were able to meet peers from other areas of Mexico and – rather than winners or losers – the lasting impression was one of new friendships born on a football field and sealed forever with a pass or tackle.
