MILAN – There was an exceptional visit to Inter Campus, where the children met
with Marco Tronchetti Provera, president of Pirelli, and Emil Boc, Romanian
Prime Minister.

The meeting took place after the press conference to present the enlargement of
the Pirelli branch in Slatina. In addition to business results and investments
in the country, the company wanted to present to the Prime Minister the social
activities promoted in the area, including those of Inter Campus, which has
been present since 2008 in Slatina, in collaboration with the partner Comunità Nuova. The sports project is aimed at facilitating integration and includes 3
coaches and 100 children all coming from different areas: the schools and the
neighbourhood, the Roma community and those in charge of social services. The
commitment of Inter Campus in Romania started over ten years ago, thanks to the
support of local institutions and cooperation with the Inima Pentru Inima
Foundation. Inter Campus has actually been present since 2000 in the cities of Ramnicu Valcea, Vitoria and Tulcea, with a sports and education programme for the
benefit of more than 300 children who have been orphaned, abandoned or risk
being abandoned.

During the conference the Prime Minister also paid tribute to F.C. Internazionale’s work in the
country, recalling the meeting with president Massimo Moratti that took place
last June in Bucharest.

After the conference, the children joyfully welcomed president Tronchetti
Provera and Prime Minister Boc on the municipal pitch, accompanied by the
director of Pirelli Tyres Romania, Giuseppe Cangelosi. In a Nerazzurri shirt,
Prime Minister Boc had fun practicing penalty kicks with president Tronchetti
Provera and the children, who at the end of the visit received a small gift to
remember this special day.
