Inter Campus speaks at United Nations

NEW YORK CITY – Inter Campus Mexico coach Karlita Gutierrez has appeared at the United Nations to take part in a conference named “The Value of Hosting Mega Sport Events as a social, economic, and environmental sustainable development tool”.

Indeed, Karlita had the honour of taking her seat at the speakers’ table straight after Ban Ki-moon had delivered his opening remarks.

Karlita was the perfect representative for the Inter Campus project, having shown wonderful commitment and enthusiasm in her work with the Nerazzurri social initiative and when participating in United Nations on Sport for Development and Peace Camps.

“Sport has a significant – and in some ways special – power to unite,” was how the Secretary-General of the United Nations introduced the conference – fitting words indeed. Inter Campus was able to use its role at the event to underline the importance of taking a long-term approach to benefitting local communities and projects.
