MILAN – Argentine striker Julio Ricardo Cruz presented a new collaboration between charity association L’Opera del Padre Pantaleo and Inter Campus on Thursday 8 May at the Nhow hotel in Milan. The new project will help 100 disadvantaged children from 8-14 in Gonzales Catan in the La Matanza district of Buenos Aires.

After last night’s press conference there was a special charity dinner, which was attended by Massimo and Milly Moratti, Angelomario and Marcella Moratti, Bedy Moratti, Inter’s vice managing director Stefano Filucchi, Roberto Mancini, Sinisa Mihajlovic, Javier Zanetti, Nicolas Burdisso, Luis Figo and Francesco Toldo.

L’Opera del Padre Pantaleo (OPM; www.padremario.org) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, founded thirty years ago by priest José Mario Pantaleo (1915-1992). Its mission is to promote human development in Gonzales Catan, in the La Matanza district of Buenos Aires, where the index of poverty and unemployment is among the highest in Argentina.

Founded in 1997, Inter Campus runs long-term humanitarian projects in 17 countries worldwide, using football as a means to help 9,000 needy children from the age of 8-14.
