INTER CAMPUS WITH WERDER BREMEN, FEYENOORD, CHARLTON AND HIBERNIAN: LIFE SKILLS APPLIED TO FOOTBALL

The FAIR-PLAY project is coordinated by the Erasmus University of Rotterdam and co-financed by the European Union

ROTTERDAM – The third teaching module of the three-year FAIR-PLAY project aimed at developing life skills and resiliency in youths was held in Rotterdam this week, run by professors of the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

The week-long course included topics such as social change, motivation and nudging (positive reinforcement in the decision-making process), applying the expertise of the Department of Psychology, Education and Child Studies scientifically to football.

The project involves three stages:
– development of the methodology, by combining academic theory with the technical experience of our coaches;
– implementation on the pitch with the children of Inter Campus Uganda and Inter Campus Hungary;
– dual impact assessment, to accurately measure the real progress of each and every child.

Joining us in Rotterdam were Werder Bremen, Hibernian, Charlton and Feyenoord – clubs which share Inter Campus’s belief in the educational and social value of sport.

The project is co-financed by the European Union.
