FIGLINE VALDARNO (Florence) – The participating teams in Tuscany 2009 – the Inter Campus World Cup have begun to arrive in Italy ahead of the big kick-off. Delegations from Poland, China, Lebanon and Morocco are due to arrive at Il Girasole campsite in Figline Valdarno today after travelling together by coach from Milan’s Malpensa airport.
While the Polish, Chinese, Lebanese and Moroccan Inter Campus kids make new friends on their way to Tuscany, delegations from Iran, Mexico, Colombia and Bolivia are due to arrive later in the day. The teams from Angola, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovenia will arrive tomorrow, as will Inter Campuses Cameroon and Paraguay, who will share the same bus from Milan to Tuscany.
The lineup will be complete when a special delegation from Israel and Palestine arrives before midnight on Sunday.
Over three hundred children from the Inter Campus projects in nineteen different countries will take part in Tuscany 2009 – the Inter Campus World Cup, an event made possible thanks to a collaboration between FC Internazionale, Regione Toscana and the Monte dei Paschi di Siena Foundation.
The tournament kicks off at the Federal Sports Centre in Coverciano on Monday and in total there will be 119 matches, with the finals will be played on Friday. In midweek, all the participants will watch Inter take on Napoli in Serie A Week 5 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
