[Inter Campus for refugee children]

AMMAN – There are millions of refugees in Jordan hailing from Syria, Iraq and Palestine. Only a small percentage of these people live in refugee camps – the rest are found in the city, doing what they can to survive. Non-profit organisation Missione Possibile – an Inter Campus Cambodia partner in contact with evangelical associations operating in Jordan to help refugees – asked Inter Campus to help out by donating sports kit. The Nerazzurri social scheme therefore gave strips to 250 kids, the children of Syrian and Iraqi refugees living in the Ashrafie area of Amman.

These children took part in a summer camp with volunteers from Missione Possibile, Grace and Training and Friends of the East. The summer camp included a number of activities including art workshops, fun games and of course football.

As one volunteer put it, the children “were delighted to receive the shirts and they kept them with them all day. The majority of them came from home every morning wearing the Inter shirt, despite there being no football planned that day. They were all very excited and felt really important with the Inter shirt on.”
