SHANGHAI – Nerazzurri ambassador Francesco Toldo spent forty-five minutes chatting to Chinese fans, live on Sina Sports from the Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai. It was the first of his numerous appointments to help promote the opening of the new Interstore in China’s most cosmopolitan city.

Toldo answered the many questions put to him by fans curious to find out more about his new role at Inter and some of the most important moments in his long career.

The ex-Inter No.1 spoke enthusiastically about the Inter Campus project: “I’m trying to put the experience and exposure I had during my playing career to good use to help the children of Inter Campus.”

Replying to other questions, he commented on the historic Euro 2000 semi-final against the Netherlands (“everybody remembers that feat”), the goal he scored against Juventus (“an incredible satisfaction for a goalkeeper to score in such a huge game at the Meazza”) and his friends in football (“Luis Figo, the goalkeepers I have played with, Rui Costa, Batistuta and, more recently, Ibra and Eto’o”).

He also said he was confident the current team could turn things around in the Champions League by beating Bayern Munich in the return leg.

At the end of the web chat, the ex-Inter keeper thanked the many Chinese fans and invited them to visit the new Interstore, which will be officially opened tomorrow at 15:00 local time, at the 353 Plaza in Nanjing East Road.

In the meantime, Toldo will spend his first evening in the company of Mr Song Weimi, the local Inter Campus representative, having dinner in Qingdao – typical Chinese fare of course.

The web chat was followed by over 250,000 Inter fans.
