MILAN – Inter Campus met with the children of the San Gerardo hospital in Monza for the third time on Saturday as part of an initiative aiming to highlight the role sport can play for children recovering from leukaemia and lymphomas.   Under the expert guidance of coaches Lorenzo Forneris, Juri Monzani, Dario Tripol and Andrea Galbiati, and watched on by their loving doctor Jankovic, 30 boys and girls who have recovered from or are still fighting their disease took part in the activities with great enthusiasm, facing off in the hard-fought final matches.

The event was held on the football pitch at the Sport Park in Vedano al Lambro, kindly provided by G.S Vedano football club.

The aim of the project – run in collaboration with the paediatric oncology and haematology unit at the San Gerardo hospital in Monza, the Maria Letizia Verga Association and Inter Campus – is to demonstrate that in most cases a child can go back to leading a normal life and take part in sports after recovering from onco-haematological diseases.
